Job Description
Workday is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join its Service Reliability Engineering team. You will focus on building scalable systems, reducing manual effort through automation, and ensuring the 24x7 availability of production environments.

Responsibilities
- Manage Linux systems in production across public and private cloud
- Develop automation scripts using Bash, Python, or Ruby
- Ensure high availability and performance of Workday services
- Troubleshoot production issues and support on-call rotations
- Use tools like Kubernetes, Chef, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana
- Create runbooks, root cause analysis reports, and capacity plans
- Eliminate manual tasks by designing automated workflows
- Collaborate across teams to ensure delivery excellence
Must-Have Skills
- 2+ years of Linux Systems experience
- 2+ years in scripting (Bash, Ruby, Python)
- 2+ years with Kubernetes in production
- Experience running 24x7 large-scale environments
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Apache Tomcat, MySQL, Java apps, Git
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and DevOps pipelines
- Experience across multiple data centers
- Monitoring tools: Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, OSSEC
- DevOps experience on CentOS, SunOS, or Solaris
